FAAW received $100,000 from FaCHSIA to "enhance communication innovation capacities for women in leadership in rural and regional communities of Australia”.

$36,363 DAFF Women Leading Change

FAAW will allocate these funds to roll out two new tele-learning series over the next twelve months; July 2009 to June 2010. The current series "Six Snapshots of Successful Communication" facilitated by Rhian Williams has been a great success with calls to run similar programs. With this funding FAAW can offer teleconference series, at affordable prices for rural and regional women and men who want to increase their capacity to influence.

The main aims of the series will be to:

  • build and share knowledge and expertise
  • increase access to planning tools and resources
  • develop leadership and management skills
  • build networks among rural, regional and remote Australians.


FAAW will allocate its funds into delivery of 2 new programs:

  • Leadership: September to November 2009
  • Facilitation: March to May 2009.

$100,000 FaCHSIA 2008-09 Women's Leadership and Development Program

The grant is designed to "enhance communication innovation capacities for women in leadership in rural and regional communities of Australia". The activities FAAW will engage in over the next 12 months aim to improve communication outreach to women living in rural and regional areas across Australia through the Foundation's website development for greater interactivity with them.


FAAW will allocate its funds to:

  • Development of an online royalty free image gallery
  • Leadership seminar events
  • Production of communication and leadership learning resources as requested by rural and regional women
  • An online 'innovation lab'.

$100,000 Myer Family Philanthropy boost to FAAW

FAAW will receive $100,000 over two years from Myer Family Philanthropy in an unprecedented philanthropic gesture to help alleviate poverty and disadvantage and strengthen the nonprofit sector in our community.

FAAW will allocate its funds to 3 key capacity building areas:

  • Administrative and governance capacity
  • Marketing capacity
  • Financial capacity.
